Conceptual
Illustration of Mise-a-la-masse electrodes configuration
Two current
electrodes and three potential electrodes are used for the measurements.
One current electrode, C1, is connected to the well casing head. The
other current electrode, C2, is earthed at about 6km far from
the well. As current electrode, cupper plates are used by burying
them in muddy ground. In order to decrease the contact resistance,
salt is scattered in soil as electrolytes. Two reference potential
electrodes are used during data acquisition. One of them, P2,
is located at about 3km from the other one, P2, which is located
besides well head.
